In fact, I think people should be refreshed by the idea of some people that actually have confidence in themselves instead of moping around being like "oh i so ugly. ): poor me.". It all depends on the level of egotism.

In my opinion it's just a fun contest with a cute badge if you win. Think of it this way, it's like a drawing contests, You don't have to submit your whole personality with the drawing to win, it;s just a fun contest about the drawing.
Having some ego isn't bad, all you get is a badge, an awesome badge that I made might I add, and that's it.
If you don't like how the contest is ran then don't join it.
